Founded in 1974, China Cereals & Oils Co. has grown into the largest rice importer in Western Canada. For over 40 years, we have followed the model of low margins, high volume, allowing us to bring the greatest value to our customers.

When China Cereals was first established, our company only sold rice and oil in the original store. With competitive pricing, we have gained a lot of support from the local community and restaurants. In 1985, China Cereals was moved to the current Chinatown store. The store front was twice as big with a warehouse in the back to serve customers more efficiently. Starting in 1997, we further developed our product range to include dry goods. We have also evolved according to the ever changing consumer habits and trends. In 2005, we opened the first warehouse style Asian Supermarket in Richmond - China World Supermarket. In addition to rice, oil and dry goods, the new supermarket location also includes fresh meat, produce, seafood and a BBQ department to satisfy our customers’ growing demands.
